Purposed Marriage holds to the Biblical view that marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God and is designed to be between one man and one woman. Matthew 19:4-6
We believe that Biblical marriage is intended to represent and mirror the relationship between Christ and his bride, the church. It is from this perspective we encourage husbands and wives to live out the Gospel in their union with one another. Ephesians 5:22-33
We believe that God hates divorce. This is expressed clearly in Scripture Malachi 2:16 The Lord’s will for marriage is expressed as the union between one man, and one woman, for life. Divorce does not align with God’s design or desire for His children.
Divorcing one’s spouse for abandonment or adultery only releases one from the guilt of committing adultery when ending a marriage. This does not remedy the heart condition of the individual, or counter the anger, bitterness, and vengeance normally associated with domestic lawsuits. Matthew 5:32, Matthew 19:9
Purposed Marriage encourages and advocates for the peaceful reconciliation of broken marriages through heart transformation, forgiveness, and God given grace. Colossians 3:13
